Adding or Updating Products

From the admin's View Products page, you can easily add or update product information such as its price, images, and stock.

Add a new product

To add a new product:

  1. From your Shappio admin, go to Products > Add Product.
  2. Enter a title and description for your product and additional details like price and pictures.
  3. Click Save.


Duplicate a product

If you need to add a new product that shares similarities with an existing product, you can save time by creating a duplicate of the existing product. This will copy over the information and attributes of the original product, which you can then modify to create the new product.

However, if you plan to offer product variants, such as different colors or sizes, adding the variant to the existing product is best rather than creating a duplicate.

To duplicate a product:

  1. From your Shappio admin, go to View Products.
  2. Click the Duplicate icon in front of the product that you want to duplicate.
  3. It will take you to the add product page with all product details pre-filled.
  4. Enter a name for the duplicate product.
  5. Modify the product details.
  6. Click Save.

Update an existing product.

You have the ability to make changes to your existing products at any time from the Shappio admin. You can easily update product details such as the product description, price, images, and stock levels directly from the product management section of the admin dashboard.

To update an existing product:

  1. From your Shappio admin, go to View Products.
  2. Click the name of the product that you want to update.
  3. Modify the product details.
  4. Click Save.
Tip
If you need to update or
edit several products at once, then you can save time by using the bulk import
as described in Bulk editing products and variants.

Delete a product

Using the bulk action feature, you can delete a single product or multiple products at once. However, it's important to note that deleting a product will permanently remove it from your store and cannot be restored. If you don't want to display a product for any reason but still want to keep it in your store catalog, you can hide or deactivate it instead. This will remove the product from your active listings without permanently deleting it, allowing you to reactivate it later if needed. If a product is out of stock, updating the stock levels or hiding it temporarily is recommended rather than deleting it altogether.

To permanently delete a product:

  1. From your Shappio admin, go to View Products.
  2. Click the Delete icon in front of the product that you want to delete.
  3. Confirm if you want to delete the product permanently.
  4. Click OK.

To temporarily deactivate/hide a product:

  1. From your Shappio admin, go to View Products.
  2. Click the Deactivate icon in front of the product that you want to deactivate.

To reactivate a product

  1. From your Shappio admin, go to View Products.
  2. Click the Activate icon in front of the product that you want to reactivate.
