When starting your online store, it's crucial to understand the payment process and choose the most suitable payment methods for your business. Your customers can select from the payment methods you have enabled on your store during checkout. Shappio allows you to enable a variety of payment methods.
Selecting the right payment methods to offer your customers requires consideration of several factors. If you want to allow your customers to pay using a credit card, several online payment gateway providers are already integrated with Shappio. These include popular options like Stripe, 2Checkout, CCNow, Moneris, and PayPal.
In addition to online payment gateways, you can also enable manual payment methods on your online store. These payment methods may include Cash on Delivery (COD), Bank Deposit, or other money transfer services.
To enable credit card payments on your website, you must activate at least one payment gateway available in Shappio. However, before activating a payment gateway, creating a merchant account with the payment gateway provider of your choice is necessary.
After your account is created, you'll receive a Merchant ID and Password from your bank, which you can use to enable the card payment option on your website.
To enable and manage payment methods:
Enabled payment methods can be configured with specific rules and applied to specific regions or order amounts. For instance, if you want to allow COD only in a particular city and not in other cities of your country, you can mark a specific region for the COD method. If a payment method is not marked with any region, it is available to all customers regardless of their location. Similarly, you might want to offer a payment method only for orders with amounts greater than $50 or less than $200.
